The faculty was founded in 1974. Study started in the academic year 1975/1976 at one of the royal palaces in Edfina, Behera province with a capacity of 50 students. The faculty provides veterinary medical services for the purpose of fostering the animal resources and increasing the awareness among the members of the community.

Several centers are affiliated with, the faculty, provide poultry and animal treatment services to individuals, and institutes.
